The G305 is worth comparing when you want to remove a mouse cable from your desk. Its receiver and battery are part of that decision: the mouse does not become a Bluetooth accessory simply because the listing calls it wireless.

Check the connection first

Logitech specifies a LIGHTSPEED USB receiver and AA battery power. Look at the ports you actually have available while your headset, keyboard and other accessories are connected. If you use a shared laptop, check whether you can leave the receiver plugged in or need to store it each day.

For a used or open-box listing, look for the receiver in the item description and photographs. A photo of a sealed retail box is less useful than an explicit list of included parts when the item is being sold in a different condition. Ask the seller through the retailer if anything is unclear before paying.

Plan for everyday use

Choose an accessible place for a spare battery so an empty battery does not interrupt a session. Check the manufacturer's battery guidance before choosing a replacement. Avoid treating a battery-life claim as a promise for your exact settings and usage.

Trace the outline of your current mouse on paper and note what you like about its width and length. Compare the published dimensions of the new mouse against that reference. This will not predict grip comfort perfectly, but it is more informative than judging size from a product photograph.

Before checkout

Confirm G305, the selected color, condition, receiver inclusion and the delivered total. Check the return terms in case the shape does not suit you. If you prefer a cable and more programmable controls, read the comparison before deciding.
